    Overview

    The 3 column radiator is the classic choice - deep enough to put out real heat, slim enough at 118mm to suit most rooms. This triple column radiator comes in white in 28 sizes, from low 300mm and 400mm heights that sit under a window up to 750mm high, and in black in 6 widths at 600mm high. Outputs run from 1,258 to 7,610 BTU.

    Every DUSC Columns radiator is made from mild steel with a hard-wearing powder coat finish and carries a 5 year guarantee. You get the look of a cast iron column radiator at a fraction of the weight, and because the pipe centres match the width, it lines up easily with existing pipework.

    Fitting
    Replacing an existing radiator? On this range the pipe centres are the same as the width - a 965mm wide radiator has 965mm pipe centres. Pick the width that matches your current pipework and it drops straight on, with no re-piping.

    Fitting is a routine job for any plumber or a confident DIY installer.

    • Connects to a standard UK two-pipe central heating system.
    • Valves fit at the bottom, at opposite ends. Add 90mm to the pipe centre measurement when fitting with valves.
    • Brackets hold the radiator 118mm off the wall, with the pipes 68mm out - allow for that when planning skirting or furniture.
    • It is heavier full of water: fix into masonry or studwork, and use fixings rated for the filled weight on plasterboard.
    • Flush the system and dose inhibitor after fitting, as with any steel radiator.
    Feet & Valves

    Matching 3 column feet are available in white or black, supplied as a pair and finished to match. They stand 140mm high and give the radiator the look of a traditional floor standing cast iron column radiator. Choose them in the Matching Feet option above - pick the colour that matches your radiator.

    The feet are decorative and are not load bearing. The radiator must still be fixed to the wall using the brackets supplied - the wall fixings carry the full weight of the radiator when it is filled with water.

    Frequently Asked Questions
    More columns means a deeper radiator and more heat from the same size. At 600 x 965mm our 2 column gives 3,686 BTU (92mm deep), the 3 column 4,262 BTU (118mm deep) and the 4 column 5,470 BTU (160mm deep). The 3 column is the usual balance of heat and depth.
    Start with the space. The width sets the pipe centres, so match it to your pipework, and pick a height that clears the windowsill - the 300mm and 400mm heights suit low windows. Then check the BTU in the size table against the heat the room needs, and size up for north facing, draughty or high-ceilinged rooms.
    No. The radiator hangs on the wall brackets supplied. Matching 3 column feet in white or black are an optional extra for the floor standing look - they are decorative and do not carry any weight.
    On this range the pipe centres are the same as the width: 425, 605, 830, 965, 1190 or 1370mm. Measure centre to centre across your current pipes, and add 90mm to the pipe centre figure when fitting new valves.
    Every radiator turns the heat in the water into heat in the room, so no style is more efficient than another at that. What a column radiator does well is give plenty of heat from a small area of wall, and the extra steel and water mean it cools down more gradually than a thin panel radiator. Running costs come down to your boiler or heat pump and how you control it.
    Yes - it works on any wet central heating system, including a heat pump. The outputs on this page are at Delta T50, typical of a boiler. A heat pump runs cooler, and at Delta T30 any radiator gives out roughly half its Delta T50 figure, so size up and ask your installer for the heat loss of the room.
    No - it is mild steel made in the traditional column shape, so it has the cast iron look at a fraction of the weight. A 600 x 965mm 3 column weighs 34.41kg empty.
