Concealed buries the valve body behind the tiles and leaves only a plate on show, which is the cleaner look but means deciding before the wall is closed up. Exposed bar valves mount on the tile face and connect to existing pipework, so they suit a straight swap or a refit where the wall is staying put.

A thermostatic valve holds the temperature you set and shuts off if the cold supply fails, which is the anti-scald behaviour worth paying for with children or elderly users in the house. Every complete pack and every exposed bar valve here is thermostatic and WRAS approved. Manual valves are simpler and cheaper where the supply is steady — the listing says which it is.

Check the figure on the listing before you order, because it is not the same across the range: some valves run from 0.5 bar, others need 1.0 bar, and all are rated to a 5 bar maximum. If you are on a gravity-fed system with a low loft tank this is the one spec most likely to disappoint after fitting, so it is worth two minutes now.

One outlet drives a single head or handset. Two lets you switch between an overhead and a handset. Three adds a third, typically body jets or a bath filler. Count the things you want water to come out of, then match the valve — you cannot add an outlet later without opening the wall again.

Yes. Gunmetal, brushed bronze, brushed brass, matt black and chrome each run across the valve plates, handles, riser rails, handsets and fixed heads, so a shower can be specified end to end in one finish. Brushed nickel covers the valves, riser rails and heads.

A pack pairs the valve with the outlets it drives — typically the concealed plate, the fixed head and arm, and the handset with its holder and hose — already matched in one finish. It is the simplest way to buy a shower without cross-checking that four separate items are the same shade, and every pack is thermostatic.
