Overview

North-facing rooms and solid-wall cottages need more heat per metre of wall than modern rules of thumb suggest - and that is precisely what a compact three-column provides. This 650mm white model turns fourteen sections at 100mm deep into 4,088 BTU (1,198W) at Delta T60, roughly forty percent more than its two-column twin in the same footprint.

Laser-welded mild steel, gloss white powder coat, 10 bar pressure testing and Kartell's five year guarantee come as standard, with brackets and fixings boxed. A thermostatic valve makes the most of the extra capacity in small, hard-to-heat rooms.

Range photography is for illustration - the number of sections varies with the size ordered. This listing is the 600 x 650mm 3 column model with 14 sections. Dimension drawing included in the gallery.

Sizing Guide

The right radiator is the one sized to the room, not the biggest that fits the wall.

Output at Delta T60 (Kartell published)4,088 BTU / 1,198W
Output at Delta T50 (calculated, EN442 factor)approx. 3,226 BTU / 945W
Typical room coverageroughly 7-10 square metres in an average UK home

Coverage is a guide only - insulation, glazing area and ceiling height change the sums. Use a BTU calculator with your room dimensions before ordering, and size up slightly for north-facing or draughty rooms.

Installation

Installation is a routine job for any plumber or competent DIYer used to hanging radiators.

  • Connects to a standard UK two-pipe central heating system.
  • Tappings sit at the bottom on opposite ends, approx. 650mm apart; pipe up through the floor or along the wall to suit.
  • Brackets hold the columns 30-40mm off the wall - allow 130-140mm from wall to the front face.
  • Empty weight is 22.4kg: fix into masonry or studwork, not plasterboard alone. Optional Kartell floor feet carry the weight on stud walls or solid floors.
  • Flush the system and dose inhibitor after fitting, as with any new radiator.
Valves & Extras

Valves are not included. You need a pair: one wheelhead or thermostatic (TRV) valve plus one lockshield. Angled valves suit pipework rising from the floor; straight valves suit wall-fed pipe runs.

  • Traditional cross-head or antique-style valves complete the period look this radiator is designed for.
  • A TRV keeps larger rooms at a set temperature and trims running costs.
  • Optional Kartell floor feet (white or black to match) add about 120mm and take the weight on suspended floors.

See our radiator valves range - the Kartell TRV and lockshield twin packs pair perfectly.

Delivery & Returns

Orders are picked from live UK stock. Radiators are palletised or double-boxed and checked before dispatch - please inspect on arrival and note any transit damage with the driver.

  • FREE UK mainland delivery on this radiator - typically 2-5 working days.
  • 14 day returns on unused radiators in original packaging.
  • Questions on access or timed delivery? Call 01282 429061 before ordering.
Frequently Asked Questions
As a guide 945 watts at Delta T50 will comfortably heat roughly 7-10 square metres in a typical UK home. Poor insulation, large glazing or high ceilings increase demand, so always size with a BTU calculator using your room's real dimensions.
The columns are 100mm deep and the brackets hold the body 30-40mm off the wall, so allow roughly 130-140mm from wall to the front face.
Gloss white powder coat over mild steel. It is a factory powder coat, considerably tougher than wet paint, and covered by the five year Kartell guarantee. Special finishes including anthracite and raw metal are available in the wider Laser Klassic range.
Kartell rates it at 4,088 BTU per hour (1,198 watts) at Delta T60, the standard European test condition. At the more conservative Delta T50 condition used by many UK sizing guides that equates to approximately 3,226 BTU (945W) - a calculated figure using the EN442 correction factor.
