Overview

At just over a metre wide, this twenty-two section black column radiator is built for the main event: lounge alcoves, dining walls and knocked-through spaces that need 4,532 BTU (1,328W) at Delta T60 without resorting to a bulky double panel. The long, low two-column body keeps a slim 68mm depth, so it tucks behind sofas and sideboards where deeper radiators intrude.

The matt black RAL 9004 powder coat is factory-applied over laser-welded mild steel, then every unit is pressure tested to 10 bar before leaving Kartell. A five year guarantee, wall brackets and fixings are all included. Team it with chrome valves for contrast or black nickel for stealth.

Range photography is for illustration - the number of sections varies with the size ordered. This listing is the 600 x 1010mm 2 column model with 22 sections. Dimension drawing included in the gallery.

Sizing Guide

Rooms are not heated by guesswork - match the radiator's output to the space it serves.

Output at Delta T50 (calculated, EN442 factor)approx. 3,576 BTU / 1,048W
Typical room coverageroughly 8-11 square metres in an average UK home

Coverage is a guide only - insulation, glazing area and ceiling height change the sums. Use a BTU calculator with your room dimensions before ordering, and size up slightly for north-facing or draughty rooms.

Installation

Any heating engineer will treat this as a straightforward swap or first fix.

  • Connects to a standard UK two-pipe central heating system.
  • Tappings sit at the bottom on opposite ends, approx. 1010mm apart; pipe up through the floor or along the wall to suit.
  • Brackets hold the columns 30-40mm off the wall - allow 98-108mm from wall to the front face.
  • Empty weight is 24.2kg: fix into masonry or studwork, not plasterboard alone. Optional Kartell floor feet carry the weight on stud walls or solid floors.
  • Flush the system and dose inhibitor after fitting, as with any new radiator.
Valves & Extras

Valves are not included. You need a pair: one wheelhead or thermostatic (TRV) valve plus one lockshield. Angled valves suit pipework rising from the floor; straight valves suit wall-fed pipe runs.

  • Traditional cross-head or antique-style valves complete the period look this radiator is designed for.
  • A TRV keeps bedrooms and snugs at a set temperature and trims running costs.
  • Optional Kartell floor feet (white or black to match) add about 120mm and take the weight on suspended floors.

See our radiator valves range - the Kartell TRV and lockshield twin packs pair perfectly.

Frequently Asked Questions
Yes on any standard indoor wet central heating system, including kitchens. For bathrooms keep it outside splash zones; the powder coated finish handles normal humidity without trouble.
Kartell guarantees the Laser Klassic for five years; every radiator is pressure tested to 10 bar before it leaves the factory. Register the product with Kartell UK after purchase to activate the cover.
As a guide 1,048 watts at Delta T50 will comfortably heat roughly 8-11 square metres in a typical UK home. Poor insulation, large glazing or high ceilings increase demand, so always size with a BTU calculator using your room's real dimensions.
The columns are 68mm deep and the brackets hold the body 30-40mm off the wall, so allow roughly 98-108mm from wall to the front face.
