Cut from the same European oak as our worktops, so a shelf above the run matches the surface below it once both are oiled with the same finish.
Solid oak floating shelves in four lengths from 600mm to 1500mm, each 200mm deep and 30mm thick. They are solid timber throughout, not veneered board, so they can be cut, sanded and oiled like a worktop. Supplied unfinished; brackets are sold separately.
These are solid oak boards, 30mm thick right through. A veneered shelf is chipboard or MDF with a thin oak skin, and once you cut it to length the core is exposed. Solid oak can be cut, rounded over, sanded and re-oiled as often as you like.
They arrive unfinished, the same as the worktops. Two coats of the same oil you use on the worktop will give a shelf that matches the run below it.
The shelves are supplied bare. Our matt black pipe brackets - straight and L-shape - suit them, or you can rout the back edge for concealed floating fixings if you want the shelf to appear unsupported.
Oak at 30mm is heavy: fix into studs or use fixings rated for the load, not plasterboard plugs alone.
No, they are supplied as bare boards. We stock matching matt black pipe brackets in straight and L-shape, sold individually so you can choose how many each shelf needs.
Yes, they are supplied unfinished. Two coats of hardwax oil protects them and, if you use the same finish as your worktop, makes the shelf and the run match.
Yes. They are solid oak throughout, so a cut end is the same timber as the face. Sand the cut and oil it along with the rest.
Finish them with the same Osmo TopOil you use on the worktop and the shelf will match the run below it.
