Burnished Coin is the one Aria decor that is not stone or plain colour: a dark surface with the worn, warm sheen of old metal, for kitchens that want character without pattern.
Burnished Coin is Formica Aria decor F3708: a dark bronze metal-effect compact laminate worktop in a textured matt finish, made as a single solid slab in 12mm or 20mm with a square edge. It is waterproof through the core, and Formica guarantee it for ten years. Prices start at GBP 268 inc VAT for the 3.6m x 650 x 12mm worktop.
One solid compact laminate slab decorated on both faces, colour through the full thickness. No chipboard core to swell, which is why the edge stays square and a sink can sit beneath the worktop.
Burnished Coin is dark - it groups with the blacks - but it is warm rather than cold: a deep brown-bronze with the mottled, softly worn look of burnished metal, in a textured matt finish. It reads as something between aged bronze and dark leather, and it brings warmth to a dark kitchen that plain black cannot. It is the decor to choose when everything else in the room is quiet.
Works with: cream or off-white doors for a warm contrast, dark green or navy units with brass hardware, and oak or walnut. The Burnished Coin upstand and splashback keep the metallic warmth behind the hob and sink.

Cut with a compact laminate blade and router-finish the square edge: the colour runs through, so the edge is the same burnished tone as the top. Join with a compact laminate jointing kit and colour-matched sealant - the mottled surface makes joints easy to place. Undermount sinks are fine on a waterproof solid slab. Cut to size can be quoted on request.
Rinse after wiping: warm water and a soft cloth are enough, and the textured matt grain holds any cleaner that dries on it. Skip scourers, cream cleaners and bleach left standing. Nothing needs sealing because the surface is non-porous. Pans on a trivet, knives on a board.
Is Burnished Coin any good? For a warm, characterful dark kitchen it is the most distinctive decor in the range, and it comes with everything the others do - a solid waterproof slab, a square edge, a ten-year guarantee - in the lower price band.
