Why Choose This Reina Product

1

Right Valve for Vertical Pipework

Angled valves are the most common choice in UK installations — ideal where the floor or wall pipework rises vertically and needs to turn 90° to enter the radiator side-on.

2

Smooth Manual Wheelhead Control

The manual wheelhead gives full open/close control with a smooth, geared action. No batteries, no failure points — just reliable mechanical operation.

3

Matching Anthracite Brass Body

Premium solid brass body with durable Anthracite finish — matches Reina’s Anthracite radiator and towel rail ranges, plus most popular UK Anthracite bathroom and heating ranges.

4

Standard 1/2 inch BSP Both Ends

Universal 1/2 inch BSP threads fit virtually every UK radiator and standard 15mm pipework. Replaces existing valves with no adapter needed.

5

Sold as a Matching Pair

One wheelhead valve + one lockshield valve, both in matching Anthracite finish — everything you need to plumb in one radiator or towel rail.

6

5 Year Reina Manufacturer Guarantee

Genuine Reina-branded Portland valves supplied through authorised UK distribution. Full 5 year guarantee coverage with proof of purchase.

Plumbing safety: Always isolate the central heating water supply, drain the radiator, and ensure the system is depressurised before any work. PTFE tape and correct compression fittings are essential for a leak-free join. If you are not competent in plumbing work, employ a qualified plumber.

Step-by-Step Installation

  1. Drain the radiator or towel rail and isolate the central heating water supply.
  2. Remove the existing radiator valves (if replacing) by unscrewing the valve tail from the radiator and the compression nut from the pipework.
  3. Apply PTFE tape to the male threads on the valve tail (radiator-side connection).
  4. Thread the valve tail into the radiator — the wheelhead valve goes on the flow side (left or right as marked on radiator), the lockshield on the return.
  5. Tighten with a spanner — finger tight plus 1–1.5 turns is usually enough.
  6. Connect to your pipework via the compression fitting on the bottom of the valve. Make sure the olive is correctly seated.
  7. Refill the system, re-pressurise the central heating and vent the radiator.
  8. Check for leaks at all connections over the first 24 hours.

Frequently Asked Questions

When do I need angled valves rather than straight or corner?

Choose angled valves when your pipework rises vertically out of the floor (or down from the wall) and needs to turn 90° to enter the side of your radiator. This is the most common UK installation, especially for vertical radiators and heated towel rails with side tappings.

Are these manual or thermostatic?

These are manual valves — the wheelhead opens and closes the flow manually. For automatic thermostatic temperature control, choose the Reina Modal TRV Angled range instead.

What thread size are they?

Standard 1/2 inch BSP both ends — fits virtually every UK radiator and standard 15mm copper/plastic pipework via the compression fitting.

What’s included in the pair?

One wheelhead valve (controls the flow) and one lockshield valve (used to balance the radiator and isolate it for maintenance), both in matching Anthracite finish.

Are they suitable for vertical radiators?

Yes — angled valves are the standard choice for vertical radiators with side tappings. The 90° angle takes the floor-rising pipework cleanly into the rad without ugly fittings.

Is this the genuine Reina range?

Yes — original Reina-branded Portland valves supplied through authorised UK distribution. Full 5 year manufacturer guarantee.
