Column Radiators
A column radiator gives you the cast iron silhouette without the weight, the cost or the hour-long warm-up.
These are pressed mild steel, powder coated and hung on ordinary wall brackets, so they reach temperature in minutes and nobody has to strengthen your floor to fit one.

Measure your pipe centres first. Pipe centres are the distance between your existing valve tails. Match that number and the new radiator goes straight onto the pipework you already have, with no lifted floorboards and no re-piping. It is on every DUSC Columns listing.

The slimmest option. Hallways, landings and bedrooms, or anywhere a door or a walkway is tight.
3 Column100–118mm
The all-rounder, and the most popular by a distance. Roughly a third more heat than a 2 column of the same height and width.
4 Column140–160mm
Living rooms, dining rooms and period properties with high ceilings, bay windows or solid walls.
6 Column243mm
Maximum output from the least wall. Extensions, conservatories, and rooms that have never quite warmed up.

White 6 column 400 x 965mm — 5,552 BTU. Only 400mm high, so it fits under a low sill. Deeper at 243mm.

Needs roughly 7,800 to 10,400 BTU.
White 4 column 600 x 1370mm — 7,813 BTU. Full width along one wall.
White 6 column 600 x 965mm — 7,928 BTU. Same output from 400mm less width, by going deeper.
Over 20 sq mopen plan
Needs roughly more than 10,400 BTU.
White 4 column 750 x 1370mm — 9,766 BTU. The highest output in the range. Above roughly 25 sq m you are into two radiators rather than one, which also heats the space more evenly.
Common questions
Will one fit my existing pipework?
Usually yes, provided you match the pipe centres. Measure centre to centre across the two valves on your current radiator and look for the same figure on the listing. If you are fitting new valves too, allow around 90mm on top of the radiator width for the valve bodies.
Horizontal or vertical?
Horizontals sit under a window or along a low wall, from 300mm to 750mm high. Verticals run 1500mm or 1800mm tall and turn a narrow strip of wall into useful heat. If wall space is the constraint rather than height, a vertical gives you more output from the same footprint.
How much heat do I need?
Every listing publishes its output in watts and BTU, so you can size the room before you order rather than after. Work on 390 to 520 BTU per square metre of floor and use the size guide above to match a room to a radiator. Size up towards the higher figure for north-facing rooms, bay windows or a lot of glass.
Do I need feet, and are valves included?
Brackets and fixings are in the box. Feet are decorative rather than load bearing and can be added from the dropdown on horizontal product pages where they are offered. Valves are sold separately so you can choose the finish, and the range is in radiator valves and accessories.
