Soft greens are the colour of the moment and usually arrive as painted doors that chip. Verde Kitami puts the colour on the worktop instead, in a solid 12mm board with a surface that does not mark and heals when it does.
Self-healing surface. A superficial micro-scratch on Verde Kitami disappears under damp kitchen paper and an iron at 120 C held for up to 30 seconds; wipe with a dry microfibre cloth. Deep chips are not repairable - the method is for surface marks.
Verde Kitami is FENIX NTM decor 0794, a soft sage green solid 12mm compact laminate worktop by Arpa Industriale. Its ultra-matt surface is anti-fingerprint and soft-touch, non-porous and resistant to household chemicals; superficial micro-scratches heal under a 120 C iron and it takes dry heat to 160 C. GBP 431 for 3m x 645mm, guaranteed 10 years.
Verde Kitami is a muted, grey-green sage - calm, slightly dusty, and far easier to live with than a saturated green. The chalky matt makes it feel like a natural material, and it flatters everything around it: white doors look crisper, oak looks warmer, brass looks richer. It is the FENIX decor for a country or Scandinavian kitchen that wants colour without commitment.
Works with: white, cream and pale oak doors, brass or antique bronze fittings, limestone or oak floors. Equally good as a perimeter or an island; pairs naturally with a Bianco Kos splashback.

A soft mid-tone hides more than either white or black, and the surface does the rest: warm water, a soft cloth, washing-up liquid for grease. What to avoid, per the fabrication manual - abrasive creams and sponges, steel wool, sandpaper, strong acids and alkalis, and wax-based sprays that leave a film dirt clings to. A melamine sponge used gently lifts a stubborn mark; a micro-scratch irons out with damp paper at 120 C.
Any good? Verde Kitami is the FENIX decor we would suggest to someone nervous about colour: soft enough to date well, forgiving of crumbs and water spots, and with the same non-porous, anti-fingerprint, self-healing surface as the rest of the range. The two honest limits hold - a 12mm solid board wants a proper frame beneath it, and a chip does not heal.
Yes, by some way. Verde Kitami is a pale, dusty sage; Verde Comodoro is a deep forest green. Same solid 12mm FENIX NTM board and surface, very different mood.
Yes. Arpa Industriale hold NSF certification for food contact, and the surface is non-porous, hygienic and resistant to mould and bacteria growth. Use a board for chopping all the same - knives will mark any worktop.
Warm water and a soft cloth, washing-up liquid for grease. No abrasive creams or pads, no steel wool, no strong acids or alkalis, no wax sprays.
Superficial micro-scratches can: damp kitchen paper over the mark, an iron at 120 C for up to 30 seconds, then a dry microfibre wipe. Deeper scratches and chips cannot.
3m and 4.1m worktops at 645mm deep, a 3m x 900mm breakfast bar, a 3m x 120mm upstand and a 3m x 645mm splashback, all in Verde Kitami. Boards cut to size on site with carbide tooling.
GBP 431 for 3m x 645mm, GBP 687 for 4.1m and GBP 697 for the breakfast bar, inc VAT. Delivery GBP 30 per order to UK mainland or free Click & Collect from Burnley; 10-year manufacturer's guarantee.
