Dark grey worktops photograph beautifully and then show every hand that touches them. Grigio Bromo is the exception: a deep matt grey with an anti-fingerprint surface that stays clean-looking in a working kitchen.
Marks iron out. A superficial micro-scratch on Grigio Bromo heals with damp kitchen paper and an iron at 120 C for no longer than 30 seconds; wipe with a dry microfibre cloth. Arpa report this working through 100 repair cycles.
Grigio Bromo is FENIX NTM decor 0724, the deeper of the FENIX greys - a solid 12mm ultra-matt worktop by Arpa Industriale with a soft-touch, anti-fingerprint surface. Micro-scratches heal under a 120 C iron, it resists household acids and cleaners, and it is rated to 160 C dry heat. GBP 431 for 3m x 645mm with a 10-year guarantee.
Grigio Bromo is a saturated, cool charcoal grey - darker than concrete, lighter than black, with the light-absorbing matt that makes FENIX look like velvet rather than plastic. It anchors a pale kitchen the way black does but with more warmth, and it is the more forgiving choice in a room with lots of daylight, where true black can look harsh. Brass, bronze and matt black fittings all suit it.
Works with: white, cream and pale grey doors for contrast, walnut or smoked oak for a darker scheme, and grey-on-grey handleless runs. Strong as an island in a white kitchen; the 1200mm island slab makes a single-piece statement.

Deep grey hides dust better than black and shows less than white, and the surface does the rest: warm water and a soft cloth for daily cleaning, washing-up liquid for grease. The fabrication manual is clear on what to avoid - abrasive products and sponges, sandpaper, steel wool, strongly acidic or alkaline cleaners, and wax-based sprays that leave a sticky film. A gentle melamine sponge is the approved tool for a stubborn mark; the iron method handles a micro-scratch.
Any good? Grigio Bromo is the decor for people who want the drama of a dark worktop and have been put off by how dark laminate and gloss surfaces look after a week. The anti-fingerprint nano surface and thermal healing address exactly that. It shares the two limits of every solid 12mm board: it needs a proper supporting frame, and chips or deep gouges do not iron out.
Yes. Grigio Bromo is the deep, cool charcoal; Grigio Efeso is the pale warm grey. Same solid 12mm FENIX NTM board, same surface, different depth of colour.
No. Anti-fingerprint is one of the eight properties Arpa Industriale define the material by - the nano surface does not hold the oils a fingerprint leaves. It is why FENIX exists as a category: dark matt that stays dark matt.
Damp kitchen paper over the mark, an iron at 120 C for up to 30 seconds, then a dry microfibre wipe. It works on superficial surface scratches only, not on chips.
Solid is FENIX NTM right through - our 12mm boards - so the edge matches the top and the guarantee is 10 years. Bonded is a thin FENIX face on a chipboard core at around 39mm, sold elsewhere with a shorter guarantee. We stock solid only.
Yes. FENIX NTM is non-porous with a solid core, so a cut-out for an undermount or Belfast sink stays sealed. Use carbide tooling and finish cut edges with fine sandpaper, as the fabrication manual recommends.
